Silver

Silver is one of the most undervalued and versatile commodities on earth. The metal is frequently used in manufacturing and tech, while being historically used as money for over 5,000 years.

While the mining ratio of gold to silver is about 1 to 9, the above ground supply of silver is scarce. Most silver that gets mined out of the ground is used in manufactured goods and eventually destroyed or put into a landfill.

Oddly enough, even though the mining ratio is 1 to 9 for gold and silver, the price ratio is currently much higher. Every so often, this ratio tightens. Savvy investors will typically hold silver until this ratio decreases, then trade their silver in for gold.
